I've been making my Great Great Grandmother's Swedish Rye bread for 50 years. Twenty years ago, or more, medium rye flour all but disappeared from stores. I tried bulk stores, specialty stores, asking bakeries if I could buy some of theirs. NONE had the taste or quality of our heirloom recipe. One year, I found Bay State medium rye online, but had to buy a 50 # bag. It was as close to Gramma's as I'd been able to find, but the 50# wasn't practical for the amount I bake. Then I found WingOld medium rye, made by Bay State Milling Co on Amazon. It was perfect! But only showed up that one year. After extensive research, I found Megan's Desserts had the WingOld, available in 7 lb sample bags. I could not be happier. I (and now my daughter, who has taken up the tradition) feel blessed to have found Megan's Desserts. Please, if you need medium rye flour, try the best, from Megan's Deserts. I want them to keep selling the small bags, so my family's special recipe can live on.
